K-5 also worked on acrostic poems in the lab using their technology skills (adding images, changing font size and color, etc.) in Google Docs. Students were able to print their finished products to bring home and share with their families. We hope you enjoyed them!
We finished off the month working on our coding skills. Students explored various coding websites; navigating mazes, solving puzzles, and even making music!!! Coding robots were introduced at each grade level to help demonstrate how coding skills can be used in real world applications that extend beyond the classroom and out into the world. K-2 programmed the Code & Go Robot Mouse to move around a grid and evade obstacles to get the magnetic cheese. Students grades 3-5 interacted with the Evo Ozobot to help the coding robot perform various tricks like Follow, Music, and Escape. Classes were also able to go screen-free and code Evo with markers and a color coding language to make mazes and pathways for the robot to creatively navigate.
