K-2 explored why people use passwords, learned the benefits of using passwords, and discovered strategies for creating and keeping strong, secure passwords.
3-5 discussed the difference between online and in-person friendships, explored an online chat scenario, and completed and signed a checklist to take home for safe online chatting.
KEYBOARDING and MOUSE SKILLS
Grades 2-5 worked on keyboarding through typing.com which can be found on the home page of our technology website. Third, fourth, and fifth graders are working on memorizing keys, keeping fingers on the home row, and using correct posture for typing. Second grade is becoming more familiar with the keyboard, using all fingers to type, and using correct posture for typing.
Kindergarteners and first graders worked on their keyboarding and mouse skills. They practiced clicking and dragging and are also becoming more familiar with important keys on the keyboard (enter, spacebar, backspace, shift, caps lock, etc.).
GOOGLE SHEETS and GOOGLE DOCS
Grades 3-5 used a hidden picture activity to create fall and Halloween-themed pictures in Google Sheets. Second graders created Google Documents based off of the story Click, Clack, Boo! Students inserted images to go along with their poems and practiced formatting their text color, style, size, etc. K-1 created pumpkins in www.ABCya.com.
